2021
Kolam is a collection of rugs designed by Tania & Sandeep Khosla in collaboration with Jaipur Rugs. The design is a contemporary reinterpretation of the art of Kolam, for the collection.

This traditional decorative art is drawn with rice flour at the threshold of a house to usher in good fortune, that later becomes food for ants. Said to have originated in Tamil Nadu, Kolam is commonly practiced by the women of the house. In this ancient art form, lines and loops are drawn around an underlying grid of dots.

The Kolam collection is inspired by the symmetry that is sacrosanct in the art form. The designers Tania and Sandeep Khosla create studies in colour and form.
